Mental Muscle is a group mental fitness circle with activities allowing you to express your emotions with others in a safe space. With an emphasis on remaining screen-free, mental muscle fosters connections through in-person discussions. Each activity ends with physical activity, signifying the importance of both physical and mental health.

This innovative approach seeks to prioritize mental health in a world that often puts physical health first. The project will provide a unique opportunity for participants to build mental resilience, self-awareness, and self-care skills through physical activity, mindfulness practices, and group discussions. By promoting the connection between physical and mental health, Mental Muscle aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and create a more supportive and inclusive community.

As the project leader for Mental Muscle, Ambassador Aryan Balivada at Shanghai Community International School is passionate about promoting the importance of mental health in our society. Each session will begin with a physical activity led by him and a professional instructor, followed by a guided mindfulness practice to help participants focus on the present moment. Finally, the session will conclude with a group discussion focused on mental health reflection, self-care strategies, and community building. By combining physical activity with mental health reflection, Mental Muscle will provide a holistic approach to well-being that will benefit all participants.
