Studies show that “being physically active can improve:
- brain health
- help manage weight
- reduce risks of disease
- strengthen bones and muscles
- improve the ability to do everyday activities”
When exercising, our body releases endorphins (happiness hormone) as well as adrenaline, making us feel active and excited. This distracts our mind from anxiety and any other negative feelings, which makes us feel better.
In the long term, exercising has the potential to tone our body, which not only benefits our physical health, but also makes us feel more confident. This contributes to improving our mental health!
30 minutes of daily exercise is enough to exploit all the benefits to your health! Equipment is not an issue, as you can do bodyweight exercises like: pushups, squats, HIIT cardio sessions, bench dips, crunches. There is a huge variety of exercises available on the internet! You can change your workouts to make them more interesting and suitable to your personal needs!
Steps to start exercising:
1) Research the different kinds of exercises on the internet and shortlist (watch videos, visit websites, etc.)
2) Create a routine and a timetable (days, time, duration of workout, type of workout, etc..)
3) JUST START. With every time you complete a workout, doing another one will be easier! Stay disciplined!
4) Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet.
